First Slice of Impact

To date, our efforts have focused on conducting preliminary audits of the California unclaimed property records, covering a portion of their extensive dataset that pertains to missing properties valued over $500. We've successfully examined 1/6th of this record set, uncovering remarkable results. Within this subset, an impressive $350,000 in funds has been identified exclusively for pizza shops bearing the word "pizza" in their name (with an average outstanding claim value of $4,375 per pizza shop). Our primary objective is to facilitate the return of these funds to their rightful owners, particularly in support of local pizza establishments. As part of our commitment to fostering positive change, we are initially allocating our entire 10% investigator's fee, obtained from the state of California, towards charitable causes that support alligned with what pizza shops do best, serving their communities and bringing pizza to those in need.

Based on our initial projections from the data we have assessed so far we can conservatively estimate that there is over $3.25 million dollars in additional unclaimed funds belonging to pizza shops in the state of California that we have yet to uncover (proportionally represented by the pizza section of the pie chart accompanying this text). If we can successfully assist pizza shop owners in recovering even a modest 10% of these funds, we could potentially provide 80+ local establishments with an average operating cash infusion of $3,950 while also raising over $35,000 for charity. We realize this is am ambitious goal but believe that every step forward contributes to meaningful change. Our commitment remains steadfast as we diligently strive to reunite each pizza shop with its unclaimed funds, supporting our local small businesses and chaities in the process

Starting on August 28th 2023, we will begin reaching out to the first 85 pizza shops we have identified through out audit and seek authorization to act on their behalf in coordination with the California State Comptrollers Office (with whom we are a registered property investigator) to get their funds recovered. During this initial phase we are pledging our entire 10% investigators fee which we are paid directly by the state of California to charitable causes which will be selected in coordination with those we serve. Additionally we aim to inspire those we help to donate whatever they are able to from their portion of the funds we help them to recover, or to make charitable impacts in other ways such as providing pizza to local charitable causes

As our efforts progress we will be updating this page periodically with status reports and data highlighting the total value of funds we have managed to recover from the state and the amount we have raised for charity, as well as which charities we have partnered with and raised funds for.
